Thank You to My Readers and Followers!

Updated: Jul 2, 2022

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and while the pandemic here in the United States rages on, I wanted to take a moment to reflect and also to thank those of you who have been following this blog and bought things from me. I don’t think you know how much that means to me, so in this post, I’ll be telling you not only why I started this blog, but also what it means to have your support.

I started this blog back in 2013. I didn’t blog regularly at all. It was one of those, if I thought of it, I’d post which meant I posted a handful of articles that year. I also didn’t have a place where I talked about my blog because honestly, I didn’t feel very confident in it. I got frustrated and stopped writing for a while. I picked it up in 2017 with much the same attitude and much the same results. It wasn’t until 2019 that I committed to really treating this blog like a job and not only that but a job I loved. I started with the commitment of posting once a week and I also committed to talking about my blog more on social media (mainly Instagram). This year, not knowing what would lie ahead, I promised myself I would post three times a week, I’d open a store, and I’d embrace my followers even more. I’m happy to report that even despite this pandemic, I’ve never missed a post, and that has a lot to do with all of you!

Blogging has been a stable point in my life. I’ve had a lot of emotionally disruptive things happen, and every time I can come on here and write an article and feel like I have my center. It’s been a place of expressing what I love, challenging myself to try new things, and push myself in a fun way. I never considered though how much the social aspect of this would build my confidence. I don’t get a lot of comments on my posts here (though if you want to I highly welcome it!), but I get a lot of conversation on my Instagram account and that has meant so much to me. Knowing that people read what I write, and try recipes or crafts or nail art, makes me want to keep posting. There have been a few times this year, especially with the lockdowns that I wanted to throw in the towel, but then I’d read a comment and it would just lift my whole world.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and one thing I’m really thankful for is the love and support I get from all of you. I appreciate your comments and suggestions and just being real. It reminds me that I don’t have to be perfect, or have the most amazing kitchen, or body, or life to have friends. So thank you! Thank you for reading. Thank you for your coffee donations and purchases from my shop! Thank you for being great friends and I’m going to do my best to keep putting out great content for you. Next year, I actually hope to start doing more Youtube videos! This won’t be replacing my blog. I’ll still be writing articles, but I’m hoping that by having a Youtube channel, I’d be able to show more of you the life I live and invite you in. I’d love to know what you all think of this too.

I know this is a short posting, but it’s also a very real and personal post. No matter where you are, or who you’re with, even if you’re by yourself, please know that this Thanksgiving, I am grateful to be allowed to be a part of your life. Thank you. I wish you and your family (even if that’s just a pet), a wonderful, safe, healthy, prosperous, and loving Thanksgiving. Keep doing your best, keep doing what you can to make the life you love, and keep being you, because that’s what makes you loveable. -Heather Astaneh
