Green Goddess Spirulina Face Mask for Spa Day

Updated: Dec 24, 2023

If there is one good thing about being at home a lot, it’s that you can take some well-deserved time to pamper yourself and connect with your inner god or goddess. This gorgeous Spirulina face mask is going to leave your skin feeling divine, soft and nourished. The best news is, that it doesn’t take a lot of ingredients to make, and it is a lifesaver if you struggle with acne.

Spirulina is actually living. It is a blue-green microalgae that is extremely healthy for you. Many people put it in smoothies or ingest it using capsules and the health benefits are incredible! It’s also really good for your face though too. The algae does wonders for the skin in that it hydrates, reduces inflammation, tones the skin, and possibly helps with sun damage.

The other component of this mask is Honey. Honey is amazing. Archaeologists actually found jars of honey in the pyramids dating back 3,000 years ago and it was still edible! This is because honey is antibacterial, it can help with some stomach issues, prevents acid reflux, and is a natural cough remedy!

The combination of spirulina and honey is a power-packed combination for skin especially if you deal with acne. While I managed to grow out of my acne days as a teen, it can still flare up from time to time. When it does this face mask can help. The spirulina hydrates the skin while the honey gets into the pores with its antibacterial properties and helps kick back blockages. It’s just a fantastic combo.

The recipe is really simple as well. You’ll need the following:

1 Teaspoon Spirulina Powder (this can be expensive, but you don’t need much of it and you can put it in all kinds of foods).

1 Teaspoon Honey

1/4 Teaspoon Water

Small brush to apply the mask

Once you have your ingredients mix them all together to make a paste and use a brush to apply it. It should feel cool. Spirulina can sometimes contain Iodine so if you have an iodine allergy please don’t make this mask. Leave on for 20 minutes and then wash off. Enjoy your soft, well cared for skin! SELFIE TIME!!!!!
