I find Picasso Jasper to be a really artist stone. I’m not just saying that because of the name either. After making my first Mala with this stone, I just loved how it looked with all the deep colors and it honestly made me feel inspired to get out my old sketchbooks again. But that’s not the only reason this stone is amazing!
Picasso Jasper is not actually a Jasper, but a kind of marble which is formed out of metamorphosed limestone and it gets its gorgeous colors from heat and pressure within the earth. I like to think that in some ways the heat and pressure of life can bring out our best colors so that’s a nice symbolic thought to link this stone too.

Metaphysically, this crystal works on the sacral (located right between your hips) and your solar plexus (located slightly above your belly button) chakras. The sacral chakra is all about enjoying pleasure on all levels including sexual and financial. The solar plexus is your energy center in that it is all about action and pursuing your dreams and goals. This stone helps you to have the energy to manifest your creative side, just like an artist painting a picture. It also helps you have the self-discipline needed to keep going for what you want.
Mentally, this stone helps the user to focus a bit better. Again, art can take time to make and it takes time to think about and create and you will need to focus. Likewise, when you’re trying to create a life that you love, it can also take time and it’s important to stay focussed on the outcome you want. It’s also a nurturing stone, so it’s good to have on hand during times of stress or pressure. It’s a grounding stone that will help you move through life’s difficult times with calmness and compassion.
Because of it’s calm and nurturing quality it’s a beautiful stone to meditate with. It reminds the user to celebrate life as much as you can and enjoy yourself! It also encourages you to persevere even when things get hard.
