Christmas morning for me involved getting up, opening presents under the tree, and playing while my mother whipped up sugar and cinnamon monkey bread. Sometimes she would even let me help by letting me roll the pieces of dough and then dunking them in butter and then cinnamon and sugar before arranging them and baking them.
Unfortunately, I live in a home where my oven isn’t exactly reliable. I’m not entirely sure what’s wrong with it, but the outside of my monkey bread will burn, while the inside is still raw. So while I would LOVE to give you that recipe, I was fortunate to find this delicious Christmas Morning Crockpot Cinnamon Roll Recipe. You’ll still get the smells of cinnamon, sugar, and the frosting and not sacrifice any of the morning’s festivities to do it either!
I found this delicious recipe on Spicy Southern Kitchen. It serves 8 at 346 calories per serving. And if you (or your kids) wake up at 5 am this will be ready by 8. It’s relatively easy to do as well.

1.) Spray a 6-quart crockpot with cooking spray.
2.) Place cinnamon roll quarters evenly in a crockpot. (If you have cooking sheers this will make the job super easy. I didn’t and it took a bit longer.
3.) In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, half-and-half, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
4.) Slowly pour on top of cinnamon rolls.
5.) Sprinkle pecans on top.
6.) Spoon one of the containers of icing that came with the cinnamon rolls on top.
7.) Place the lid on the crockpot and cook on LOW for 2 1/2 to 3 hours. If your crockpot runs hot, check after 3 hours. Cinnamon rolls should be golden brown along the edge and no longer gooey in the middle. I took a wooden chopstick to poke in the middle and for me, it was too gooey so I cooked it for half an hour more.
8.) Once done, turn the crockpot off and spoon the second container of icing on top. Serve warm.
I personally am not into sugar and carbs first things in the morning, but this was really good as a Christmas quick fix! Even if you find yourself, like me with just you and your husband, it’s still nice to set this up and let it go while you snuggle and enjoy the holidays together.
For this Christmas, I would like to give you a little gift/reminder.
I wish you a beautiful holiday, full of love. YOU are a gift to this world. No matter what people say, no matter who you’re spending this Holiday with, YOU matter, YOU have a purpose, YOU are special and YOU are going to do great things. Don’t let anyone tell you differently. -Heather Autumn
