When October hits there is no denying it. There’s a chill in the air, everything is pumpkin spice, the leaves are changing colors and everyone is gearing up for HALLOWEEN!!! So for this post, I wanted to showcase some things I love to have and do during this amazing season. If you’re needing a jumpstart to get into the Autumn spirit, I hope these inspire you as they have me.

1.) Scary Podcasts: I have a love-hate relationship with horror. I don’t buy tickets to horror films and if I am in the mood at home, I will sit there with one finger on the mute button or even the power button if it’s really bad. However, I absolutely ADORE listening to Lore and its sister podcast The Cabinet of Curiosities. I often listen to it while I’m cooking, or sometimes my husband and I will even put it on for dinner. It’s just spooky enough, and I think Aaron Mahnke and his team do an amazing job finding such crazy/scary things from history! If you’re looking for something to listen to while you sip your pumpkin spice latte and watch the leaves fall from the trees, it HAS to be this. You can listen to it for free on Spotify. If listening to a podcast is not your thing, cuddle up to either one of his books or watch the newest season of Lore on Amazon Prime!

2.) Why Are We So Obsessed with Fall: I love reading articles about psychology and why we like what we like. So I was happily surprised that there was an actual answer! If you are like me and want to know why the first chilly morning seems to light you up, then read this article from Huffington Post.

3.) This Article to get Your Home into the Halloween Spirit and Still look Classy: I love Massachusetts during the fall. It’s not just the trees that change color, but it’s those little touches of class. The pumpkins and mums that appear on the steps to people’s homes. One thing I remember seeing in Florida was pictures of Disney’s Magic Kingdom during the fall. If you want to know what true mastery of classy holiday decorating looks like, they have it covered. But for the average person, that can be difficult to understand or even visualize so I thought this article from Town and Country Magazine would help, or in the very least give you some inspiring ideas.

4.) Makeup And The Deep matte red lip is back!….along with the gawdy “Graphic Eye”: I can’t tell you how much I love doing a mat red lip for myself during the fall months. Red is a sexy color anyway, but I really love the deep burgundy lips that come out. I also apologize to those who love the graphic eye styles coming out. I just haven’t seen many of those done well, however if that’s not the case for you, then great! This article from Harponer’s Bazaar will keep you up to date for the latest fall makeup trends for 2019.

5.) My favorite fall fashion trend for this year: When I think of fall, I think of oversized sweaters, skinny jeans, and boots, but there are tons of other beautiful things that you can celebrate the season with. Gold and Plaid seem to be a trend this season, as well as some things I wasn’t expecting like beautiful satins. You can get your fall fashion fix HERE.
